We welcome the rain whether occasional or frequent. We sure needed it.
This reminds us of when we first went to Texas. The first summer it rained nearly every day until sometime in June when it quit and we got nothing until at least the end of September.
The city water supply was a big lake which almost went dry. Lawn watering was put on rationing - days and time during the evenings.
And for the residents, the supermarkets became the water source.
Back to the present there are projects to get done on rainy days too.
In past columns we’ve talked about our garden suppliers advertising things to plant now for a second garden or trees, bushes and related so they have a good start for next years. Some plants, asparagus for example, take three years before the first harvest.
In the meantime make plans on the county fair. We’ve had quite a few family events we’ve talked about in past columns related to our fair happenings including exhibits and prizes our family got.
