GREEN THUMB

It’s time to get planting done. We’ve been advised that the tulips are up. So are peonies and other permanent plants. Then we check the garden for rhubarb, horseradish, and asparagus. When there was enough asparagus, we enjoyed it from our own garden area.

Then to get the rest of the garden planted. Farmers are out planting their fields, too. For them that means workdays running 12 and more hours.

In the stores some things are still on sale. Seeds are running low, with sales on whatever needs planting. And sales on garden tools along with lawn mowers and more.

We used to have garden tractors, too. In our case we had a tiller which came in handy mowing the weeds between the planted rows.

We do need rain of course. We also need the garden and yard work too. That keeps us busy nights and weekends. And there is other Spring work to get done too. Water your house plants.

Until next week.
