By Arnold Krusemark It is November and Fall. In the Spring we look forward to signs of Spring - the first this and first that.
Now it is Autumn. This week we noticed trees are losing their leaves. Some get ground up with the next lawn mowing. That makes them good fertilizer for next year.
Soon we will notice geese (and other birds) flying south for the winter.
Hunters will take notice to do some late season hunting. We’ve seen some interesting youtube videos on geese and duck hunting. Quite interesting to say the least. Wish we had the $1000 to buy a good pair of chest waders made specially for duck hunting. Not to mention the custom made hunting blinds.
One year a magazine included a phonograph record with lessons on how to use your duck call. With several practice sessions.
One time when I played the record our own ducks heard it and responded.
So much for that. Back home other work needs to be getting done. We used to wash the windows too.
And remaining planting needs doing.
With the time back to Standard Time and shortened days about the only time left for outside work is on the week-ends. We hope you will get yours done before freezeup.
Just so you don’t have to put on storm windows during a snowstorm or sleet fall.
You should keep busy for now. Until next week.
