Our column this week was inspired by the Northern Gardener magazine.
This time of year our gardening consists of three Ws: Watering, Weeding, and Waiting, Watering may be needed when it hasn’t rained for a while. This writer can remember one year we watered the garden. Once. That year our garden produce was extra good.
Weeding. We’ve discussed this in past columns. Weeding may be done with the hoe and rake or a garden tractor. Or manually.
We’ve used all three.
And then there’s Waiting. Sometimes the hardest. Waiting for our garden produce to produce. And large enough to get picked and eaten then or saved for winter. And when it gets big enough much time is needed to store it for use later.
This will keep us busy for now. And through the summer too.
And then the usual work to get done.
Until next week.
