GREEN THUMB

By Arnold Krusemark Now that you have your potatoes planted its time to check out other spring work yard and elsewhere. There are many ads reminding us to get our lawn fertilized and otherwise cared for. Be sure to read the directions - for fertilizer, grass seed, and weed remover.

With that done, in our case we check out our orchard. There are enough downed tree branches for a good bonfire. In addition to burning the dead wood we also think about getting the marshmallows and hot dogs out.

Also trim the extra branches off the trees - usually at the bottom of the trees.

Next will be the flower beds. Check the stores for bushes for sale. Now is the time to get them purchased and planted.

And then there’s the garden. This should keep you busy for several weeks. Back inside the house its now ok to move some of the house plants outside for the summer. Then water the remaining inside ones. Until next week.
