God delivered Israel from a life of slavery in Egypt. He gave them a wonderful land full of abundance. He offered them a life of freedom and prosperity; all they had to do was take Him at His Word and believe he would be with them to give them the victory. Ten of the twelve spies came back with a negative report. “The land is great but the people are huge and we cannot defeat them” they said. Caleb said, “Let us go up at once and take possession, for we are well able to overcome it” (Numbers 13:30). Joshua and Caleb completely believed God; the others, like many today, doubted God’s Word and could only whine and cower in fear. As a result, they died without God’s blessings.
Today, we also face many great difficulties in the areas of our health, provision, slavery to drugs and alcohol and all manner of sin which defeats us in life. However, Jesus has revealed Himself as Savior, Lord, Redeemer, Healer, Deliverer, Provider; in fact, He is everything we need in life. Have you read of all the precious promises He has made available to us? Have you read that He has made us ‘more than conquerors through Christ our Lord?’ Have you read that ‘greater is He that is in us than he that is in the world?’ Have you read of all the armor that God has given us to stand against all the wiles (methods) of the devil. Satan comes only to steal, to kill, and to destroy. We have power over the devil and all his demonic forces, (Luke 10: 19-20).
Will you be a Joshua and a Caleb and be blessed of God? Or, will you wander through life in the wilderness living a meager life having an evil heart of unbelief?
