By John Stenen It is interesting to note that when God had an important assignment to be carried out, He did not appoint a committee to fulfill His plan; He began with a baby.
For example, Israel was in bondage to Egypt, they cried out to God in their suffering and God arranged for baby Moses to become their deliverer. Baby Samuel became Israel’s first Prophet. Baby Samson brought deliverance from the Philistines. Young David became the greatest King and led Israel to a great time of peace and prosperity; Solomon enjoyed that peace and prosperity for forty years. Mankind was in bondage to sin and death and Satan was the god of this world, then came baby Jesus, the Messiah, the Lamb of God that taketh away the sin of the world, Emanuel, God with us.
Through His life, His death on the cross as our substitute, and His resurrection, He offers eternal life to whosoever will receive Him, and allow Him to be Lord of their lives. We again celebrate His birth, two thousand years ago, and millions and millions have bowed their knees to His Lordship. He alone is the giver of eternal life. Have you yielded to Him? God bless.
