By John Stenen Many Christians seldom get answers to their prayers, because of their lack of God’s Word, hidden in their hearts. Our prayers are to be based on God’s Word; not what we think of the situation, or having a ‘I hope this prayer will work attitude’, or, “God, You should answer my prayer this way.”
Christians should be in God’s Word daily, learning and obeying what He says. This way when a need arises, you can pray and ask in faith, believing as it says in John 15: 7 :“If you remain in Me and My words remain in you, you may ask for anything you want and it will be granted.”
I also encourage you to read all of John 15. Romans 10:17 says, “So then faith comes from hearing, that is, hearing the Good News about Christ.” (NLT). We must constantly feed on the Word of God if we expect our faith in His promises to work.
Read Galatians 5:16-22 and you will see why so many Christians fail in their spiritual walk with the Lord; it’s either the flesh or the spirit that is leading our lives. Which one rules in your heart? God bless.
