By John Stenen A long time ago a very famous minister of the gospel said, “If I was to put together all the prayers I have prayed for faith, it would have been months.
Then one day I read in Romans 10:17, ‘faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the Word of God. I had closed my Bible and prayed for faith; now I open my Bible and study it day after day, and faith comes as I do so.” D. L. Moody was that minister and his ministry is still reaching multitudes for Christ. True biblical faith still moves mountains.
However, if we are not reading, hearing, and studying God’s Word on a regular basis, our faith will only be a ‘I hope so faith.’
That means, rather than have full confidence in the promises God has given to us; we would just be hoping God will intervene and solve the problem.
God is a faith God, and we are told that without faith it is impossible to please God. I challenge you to read your Bible and see what God says about healing, meeting our need according to His riches in glory, and above all, how we can become one of His children; it may surprise you.
