By John Stenen The young news correspondent, was flying his single engine plane over the deep jungle in New Guinea, when all of a sudden his engine quit. He was able to jump from the plane with his parachute and landed safely. For many days he wandered through the thick tangled jungle only to discover he had been walking in circles, always ending up near the area where he had started. He was fearful that he would be forever lost. Finally, one day he happened to come across what appeared to be a well worn trail. He followed it and it led him to a road and eventually to safety. He was thankful to be alive, for he loved life.
When I read that story long ago, I couldn’t help but think of the many who go through life unprepared to face all the dangers of life. All of its wicked temptations, snares set by the enemy of our soul to destroy us. Jesus said the devil walketh about seeking whom he may devour, and the evidence is all around us that he has devoured many, and continues to lead them to a Christless eternity. Many of you reading this, may be one of his victims. The good news is this; there is a narrow path, you can read about it in Matthew 7:13-14. There is a broad path that leads to eternal damnation, and according to Jesus, most people are on it. There is also a narrow path that leads to eternal life, and safety in God’s eternal Kingdom, and few there be that find it. It is only found in Christ! John 1:12 tells us that as many as have received Him, to them He gave the power to become the children of God. Eph. 2:8 tells us, we are saved by grace through faith. Please, come to Jesus today, for tomorrow may be too late.
