By Kathy Schwartz, Murray County Master Gardener Divide bearded iris in late July or early August. If you have climbing or rambling roses, prune them lightly and tie them to their support as they grow.
Apply mulch and add more if needed to suppress weeds and conserve moisture. Keep the mulch 2 inches away from the base of a plant to avoid rotting.
