The F/MCC Warriors had just one dual last week and it was the formidable Jackson County Central Huskies, who started the night 14-3.
The Warriors lost the first 4 weights before Brayden Gilb took to the mat against Isaac Rodriguez. Gilb bullrushed Rodriguez and took him down on the edge of the mat for the first takedown of the bout. Rodriguez found a way to score 2 on a reversal and Gilb fired right back, getting his hips over and scoring a reversal of his own. Gilb, starting on top in the 2nd period, gave up an escape to Rodriguez. He quickly got to his legs, taking Rodriguez down and scoring a nearfall with a spladle. Rodriguez got to his feet and scored on another reversal. Gilb kept wrestling, getting to the edge of the mat, freeing his legs out of the scramble and getting on top of Rodriguez again. Rodriguez fell limp and recovered, but gave the match and 6 points to the Warriors on an injury default.
Jaxon Wendorff at 172 with a reversal, caught a headlock on Hayden Schultz and squeezed arm and head for the fall.
At 285 was Colby Kesteloot, putting on a takedown clinic with Karsin Janssen, scoring 17 points and earning a technical fall for the Warriors. The dual finished 46-23 in favor of the Huskies.
