FULDA SCHOOL BOARD REVIEWS PRELIMINARY FACILITY AND BUILDING DESIGN

By Norma Dittman During their Monday, October 13th, meeting, Fulda School Board reviewed the preliminary facility and building project designs.

Superintendent Mike Pagel informed the board members that ground boring has begun, with six holes out of the 24 drilled during the day.

The junior class has requested approval for fundraisers to raise money for their 2026 prom. The fund raisers include butter braid pastries, cookie dough sales, work at concessions stands for winter sports, and the possibility of Tastefully Simple through Holly Zins-Rohlik. Events that they plan to fundraise at are 2 girls basketball games, 3 boys basketball games on January 23, February 17 and 23, and 2 wrestling meets. A taco feed will be on January 16th during the basketball game. Permission was granted to the American Legion Auxiliary for the food stand at the November 22nd Holiday Craft Bazaar.

Susan Lee, Community Education Director stated that there were 130 aquacise swimmers for September and 30 people that swam during September open swim. The pool is open on weekends when there are guards available. There are currently no guards available for after school hours as they are all involved in athletics.

In the athletic director’s report, Greg Erdmann detailed what has been happening with fall sports, information about upcoming winter sports, and that the safety straps and new cabling portion of the game boards has been completed.

Elementary principal Brett Perish’s report stated that there have been many activities since the September Board Meeting. Upcoming are the end of 1st quarter on October 31st and Parent/Teacher Conferences scheduled for November 3 and 5.

Approved during new business discussions were the Assurance of Compliance with State and Federal Laws; the Resolution Supporting Form A Application to Minnesota State High School League Foundation, and the Fulda Community Education Annual Report.

District Groups and Supporters recognized included the Fulda Fire Department for fire education during National Fire Prevention Week; and the Fulda Police Department and Murray County Sheriff’s Office for attending the Walk/Bike to School Day.

The next meeting of the Fulda School Board will be Monday, November 10, 2025, at 6 p.m. in the high school conference room.
