Fulda Area Lakes Association asked for financial aid for a 4 x 8 aluminum sign that they want to purchase from Precision Manufacturing and Machine at a cost of $2,170.40. Presenting the sign information was FALA member Dan Lubben. A motion was made, seconded and approved for the City of Fulda to pay one-half of the cost of the sign and aid in the installation of it. It will be installed near the T-Dock fishing pier.
Fulda Fire Department Officer recommendations that were voted upon during the department’s January meeting were approved by the council. Gary Clarke is the new Fire Chief with Ted Dierks the 1st Assistant, Brian Ackerman the 2nd Assistant, and Ryan Baumgartner the secretary.
The resignation of John Nau, from the Fulda Fire Department, which was effective January 15, 2026, was accepted the council.
In his Streets Report, Supervisor Jesse Rucktaeschel informed the council that there was a $3,500 offer to purchase the city’s old sewer jetter. The council accepted the offer.
Approved was Resolution 2026-05 Establishing Procedures Relating to Compliance with Reimbursement Bond Regulations under the Internal Revenue Code. The accompanying Declaration of Official Intent relates to the purchase of city equipment consisting of a loader, sewer jetter and tractors ($@60,299 less $100,000 city contribution plus costs of the bond issuance/rounding of $8,701.00.
Resolution No. 2026-06 authorizing the issuance, sale and delivery of a $169,000 General Obligation Equipment Certificate of Indebedness, Series 2026A was approved.
Resolution #2026-04 that adopts the 2025 Murray County Hazard Mitigation Plan was approved by the council. The City of Fulda recognizes the threat of natural hazards to people and property within the City of Fulda and supports the plan as proposed by Murray County.
The next monthly meeting of the Fulda City Council will be March 2, 2026, 5 p.m. at Fulda City Hall.
