FULDA CITY COUNCIL HEARS PLANS FOR MILLING AND OVERLAY OF CSAH 2

By Norma Dittman Randy Groves, Murray County Engineer, was present at the Monday night Fulda City Council meeting to detail the upcoming milling and overlay on CSAH 2. The work will begin at west County Road 2 extending east to U.S. Highway 59. Bollig Engineering will finish their planned projects before the county begins the work. Fulda City Council approved Resolution_ 2026-03 approving the county project within the municipal corporation.

An updated report was received from Bollig Engineering. Information shared indicates that the sanitary sewer has been completed along CSAH 2 and Maryland Avenue; all sanitary sewer services have been completed except for one which will be done in the spring; the watermain along Maryland Avenue was installed but connection to the existing system will take place in the spring.

Ordinance no. 259 - 2026 fee schedule was approved with a few changes to the schedule. Added were Fire Department fees for controlled burns and filling pools and skating rinks. Increased was the sewer fee, and infrastructure fee.

Another resolution that was approved was the 2026-02 Office of Emergency Medical Services (OEMS) Ground Ambulance Operating Deficit Grant in the amount of $4,880.47. The grant will be used to support and improve ground ambulance services for the benefit of the community.

Following strong discussion, Resolution 2026-01 for annual committee designations for council members was tabled until a special meeting with the date and time to be determined.

Approved was an application for a building permit for a new home for Tim and Jean Runkle.

The February meeting of the Fulda City Council will be on Monday, February 2, 2026, 5 p.m.
