“You will keep in perfect peace those whose minds are steadfast, because they trust in you.”
Isaiah 26:3 (NIV)
Trust can sometimes be a difficult thing to navigate within our relationships. While we certainly acknowledge the different levels of trust that we assign on an individual basis, a deeper point for reflection is thinking about where this trust comes from.
Notably, we may trust someone based on feelings of love or comfortability, and we may tend to distrust based on feelings of distance or resentment.
As we reflect upon these matters, we should consider ways in which we can become more trusting people. While this does not have to entail the reveal of any extra personal information, it does mean becoming a trusting presence in the lives of others, allowing them to confide in us as we consider the very reasons that we confide in our most trusted friends and loved ones.
