“For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do so.”
Ephesians 2:10 (NIV)
As the Lenten season begins and we grow closer to the celebration of Christ’s Resurrection, there are numerous points for spiritual reflection to consider. Importantly, how can we prepare ourselves for this celebration? As the season is often characterized by personal sacrifice, in some form, we can also consider how to fill the “gap” this may create. Some things we can do during the season, then, are create new routines, perhaps relating to prayer or regular acts of kindness. Through this consideration of our service and prayer leading up to the celebration of Easter, we can foster a deeper spiritual connection to God through the holiday.
