A fatal crash occurred on Highway 59 Monday morning, December 22, near the intersection of 156th Street, with the Minnesota State Patrol noting icy conditions on the road.
According to the report, a 2014 Freightliner semi-truck (bread truck) was northbound and a 2022 International Straight Truck (dump truck) southbound on Highway 59 when the two collided.
Dump truck driver Michael Griffin, 61, of Tyler, was taken to Sanford Sioux Falls with life-threatening injuries.
The driver of the bread truck did not survive the crash.
