COURT QUEEN OF PEACE #1558

Court Queen of Peace met March 24, 2026 at 5 PM with a light meal with 24 members present. Regent Deanna Konkol called the meeting to order asking for the secretary’s and treasurer’s reports as well as the financial secretary’s report. There are 12 members left to pay dues and 2 resignations leaving 62 members. Jan Bryan gave an update on what the Legislators are doing including information about sports gambling, abortion issues, 2 laws permitting euthanasia, Amy Klobuchar’s voting record in Congress and the Federal tax credit for organizations offering scholarships to students. The State needs to sign on for this by January of 2027. Jill McCord gave an update on the donations that have been sent to the seminarians and the Presentation Sisters in New Ulm. Thank You notes were read from individuals who received Christmas baskets.

A committee is working on details for our upcoming 75th Anniversary celebration on June 3, 2026. Barb Neilson will make invitations which will be sent to surrounding courts and state officers. Our thanks to her also for also making 1st Communion and Confirmation cards. Thanks to LaRue Robinson for sending cards of encouragement to our CDA sisters.

Barb Minnehan described the volunteer organization called ’Tuck Them In’ in Tracy that builds and furnishes beds for kids. No action was taken by the Daughters at this time.

Jessie Hoffman, Slayton Police Chief gave an update on the state of the city and his emphasis on the importance he places on meeting and greeting the citizens of Slayton.

The next meeting will be hosted by the Currie Daughters at Immaculate Heart of Mary Church in Currie on Tuesday, April 21 at 5 PM.
