The Chandler American Legion and Auxiliary met on March 5th at 1:30pm at the Patsy and LeRoy Buys home. President Patsy opened the meeting in usual form. Geri gave the opening devotions.

The Treasurer’s and Secretary’s reports were read and approved.

For old business, poppies were ordered.

For new business, Patsy, Mavis, Jennet, and Mary decided to meet on April 1st to complete the annual reports which were due soon. Each member was encouraged to fill out the Year End Impact Member Reports.

A motion was made and seconded to send $20 for the After-Prom Party at MCC School. Another motion was made and seconded to send $50 for 4-H students going to Washington, DC.

A wheelchair was loaned out for a short time, then was returned. Patsy reported giving 5 Loaves of Learning and several Hanks grocery slips. These slips amounted to many dollars for Learning. The Legion has contacted Brent Post to maybe be the speaker for Memorial Day.

Word was received from the State Gift Shops that due to an illness outbreak, gift cards were used instead for the Christmas gifts. Veterans can choose gifts for their families from these gift shops.

A discussion will be held about the amount our dues will be for this coming year.

The meeting closed with Geri giving the prayer and the singing of “America.”
