On the nicest day of the spring, the Rebel baseball team hosted the Dutchman of Edgerton/Southwest Minnesota Christian.

Senior Peyton Coulter was once again in charge of taking the mound for the home team Rebels. The right hander threw three and two-thirds innings, allowing two hits, one run, and striking out four, while picking up the win for the Rebels. E/ SWC picked up an early run in the top of the first inning. It didn’t take long for the Rebel bats to wake up and answer back with four runs in the bottom of the first frame.

Started by Carter Benda getting a leadoff single, stealing second, and eventually scoring the first run for the Rebels. After that the home team never looked back and used all 12 hits to score a total of 14 runs on the day. This offensively explosion helped the Rebels win 14-4 in five innings.

Connor DeGreeff pitched the final one and one-third innings, allowing three hits, three runs, and a strikeout. The offense was lead by Benda’s three hits, while Christian Tentinger added three, while Nate Kleven, Dawson Blankenship each added two hits for Rebels.

The Rebels improve to 6-1 on the season. They travel to Heron Lake on Thursday for a big conference doubleheader.
