By Norma Ditmann Fulda City Council received an update on the CSAH 2 Project from Bollig Project Engineer Jordan Odegard. He stated that the current water main and sanitary sewer near the assisted living building runs under the parking lot. For ease of maintenance and access, Bollig wants to install the systems in 7th Street NE instead of it being replaced in the current location. Odegard also said that there are unknown sanitary sewer service locations due to lack of previously being televised, and that those lines will need further investigation as the proposed sanitary will be installed in a different location rather than the existing one. More work will be done to gather the information that is still needed prior to the start of the improvements.
The Minnesota Department of Health will be contacting Fulda City Hall through email to provide documents and fliers that will need to be sent to the homeowners involved in the project.
According to Odegard, the contractor is still planning to begin the project this fall.
For informational purposes, Odegard also reviewed the proposed city hall and fire hall improvements with the council. The cost summary presented was for informational purposes for budgeting and decision making purposes.
A lengthy discussion ensued regarding the cost of the improvements, the previous discussions that have taken place regarding what is needed for the fire department and for city hall space, the length of time that it has been taking to make decisions regarding the proposed project(s), and how the projects could be financially feasible at this time.
As the discussion continued with no resolutions, Mayor Jim Brown asked that all involved come to an agreement to put more investigation into all possibilities that would be beneficial to the additions to city hall, to the fire department, and still be acceptable to Fulda residents.
Further discussion was tabled until further investigative work is completed.
