Avoca American Legion Commander Tom Sommers handed over a check to Avoca Mayor Barb Kirchner during the July Avoca City Council meeting. The Avoca Legion sold concessions during the recent Avoca Fun in the Sun event. The proceeds of $780 will go toward the Avoca Veterans Memorial.
