MCC TRACK TEAM TRAVELS TO WORTHINGTON

The Rebel Track and Field teams traveled to Worthington to compete in a 10 team invitational on Thursday, April 25th.

Brylei Schreier had a fine all around day with her running events. She ran down the pack on the straight away in the 200 to come out as the champion with a personal best time of 27.29. She was runner up in the open 400, running a time of 64.95. Brylei teamed up with Jayda Hellewell, Abby Overman, and Brealyn Damm in the 4x200 relay where they placed 4th. Damm took home 6th place honors in the 100 hurdles while Hellewell leaped a personal best 31’1” in the triple jump, good enough for 4th place.

Sophia Nelson came home with three 4th finishes. She ran a 2:34 in the open 800, and was a member of the 4x400 relay with Reese Gilbertson, Overman and Hellewell, and also a member of the 4x800 with Holland Vogel, Charu Paulzine and Olivia Kathman. Vogel had an individual 7th placed finish in the 3200 while Gilbertson jumped a personal best 4’8” to place 8th in the high jump.

The boys sprint relay team of Luke Iverson, Andrew Holm, Thomas Huso and Anikan Larson ran a season best time of 48.17 to place 4th. Carson Engelkes and Alex Betz joined Holm and Larson in the 4x400 relay where they placed 6th. The 4x800 relay team, consisting of Betz, Beckett Stelter, Holm and Wesley Hause, also placed 6th. Individually, Larson also placed 4th in the 100 while Betz was 7th in the 800.
