Currie Fire Department is happy to announce that they recently took delivery of a brandnew pump truck. It will be replacing our current back-up truck that is a 1974 Chevy.

Currie Fire Department applied for and received a grant through FEMA’s Assistance to Firefighters Program, which they have been applying to for many years.

The truck ordered by the fire department is a 2026 Freightliner chassis with a Rosebauer/ Heiman pump apparatus. It has a 1500 gallon tank on board with a great deal of storage for additional equipment. The truck was built less than 100 miles from Currie, so it was very easy for the fire department to be involved in the process from start to finish.

Members of the Currie Fire Department Truck Committee were able to drive it home unscathed and put it in our fire hall on Monday, May 18th.

The fire fighters credit outstanding community support as the biggest reason they were able to secure the purchase of the truck. They look forward to it benefiting the community, and surrounding communities for many years to come.
