GARY LEE OLSON

Gary Lee Olson was born on January 15, 1936, to Carl and Anna Lindberg Olson. He grew up on multiple farms in Des Moines River Township, Murray County, Minnesota, and attended Slayton High School. He was the youngest of 6 children, being the only son with 5 older sisters who constantly spoiled him. His love for his country led him to enlisting in the United States Army on December 3, 1958. Due to his father’s failing health, he came home to take over the family farm but continued to serve in the Army reserves until he was honorably discharged in November 1964.

FLAVIA KIRCHNER

Flavia Kirchner 99 of Slayton, MN passed away on Friday, July 2, 2021, at Our House Hospice Home in Slayton. A memorial service will be at a later time.

ORIN “CLET” CLETUS BLEGEN

Clet Blegen was born on March 2, 1933, in Decorah, Iowa to Merwyn and Nora Moen Blegen. The family later moved to Faribault, MN where Clet graduated from Faribault High School in 1951. He later attended Mankato State graduating in 1955 with a Teaching Degree. On August 6, 1955, he and Dorothy LaCroix were married in Faribault. Following their marriage, they made their home in Byron, Kason, Benson, and Faribault, MN where Clet taught a variety of class as well as coached several different sports and served as a referee and umpire for both high school and college sports.
