The new NAPA store is next to Rowdy’s Radiator, the repair business Rodney established twenty-two years ago. “The first shop was across from the State Farm building and then in 2010 we built at this location (1625 91st St.)” said Rodney. Rowdy’s Radiator has plenty of room for trucks to park and turn around and the new NAPA building will as well. It is an impressive 50’ x 72’ store on the adjacent lot. “We’ll have automotive and heavy duty truck parts,” added Rodney. “We’ll also have welding gas in the building.
Everyone looks forward to the Murray County Fair, but did you know there are lots of other events that take place at the fairgrounds in Slayton? There are animal shows, dances, meetings, craft shows and picnics on the grounds each year, because it is a great venue for any special event.
The Murray County Fairgrounds offers rental facilities with ample parking throughout the year, and can be used for swap meets, wedding receptions, horse and other livestock events, or even family reunions.
With the retirement of police chief Tom Whitehead, the city of Slayton has chosen Jeremy Steinle as it’s new chief. Mr. Steinle began his duties June 21 and is honored to continue his service to our community.
The Kerry & Kimberly Ruppert family of Currie has been named Murray County’s “2021 Farm Family of the Year” by the University of Minnesota.
