The MCC Rebel Girls Basketball team played their only game over Christmas break on Thursday night when they played host to the Pipestone Area Arrows. The Arrows came into the game with a 4-2 record with their two losses against Luverne and Montevideo maybe the top two teams in Section 3aa. The Rebels were 2-3 on the season and had over a week and a half between games when they beat Lakeview. The Rebels were the heavy underdog coming into the game and the Arrows would show why.

The Board of Directors of the Chandler Coop recently voted to retire patron stock in the amount of $587,443 to those agronomy and energy patrons born in 1953 and 1937. The Cooperative also retires equity stock on a 13-year revolvement plan and retires estates. Last Spring, we returned $1,818,000 of equity from 2009 and 2010. Slayton American Legion Post 64 has procured American Veterans Traveling Tribute to bring the traveling Vietnam Wall along with the Cost of Freedom panel display to Slayton MN August 15-20 2023. These dates happen to coincide with the Murray County Fair as well. This wall is an 80% replica of the actual wall in Washington DC. The Wall consists of 144 panels spanning 360 feet, in addition to the Vietnam Wall display, there is The Cost of Freedom panels, 72 of them, which is a tribute to every conflict that the United States has been in starting with WW1. 1914-1968 8 panels, 19791989 8 panels, 1990-2012 8 panels, 911 Tribute 12 panels, Afghanistan & Iraq Warrior Tribute 36 panels.
