The Murray County Board of Commissioners met in regular session on Tuesday, May 21, opening the meeting at 8:30 a.m. The meetings are available to view via zoom.

SLAYTON CITY COUNCIL

HIRES NEW POLICE OFFICER, VOTE PASSES TO MOVE FORWARD WITH MUNICIPAL ELECTRIC UTILITY Slayton City Council met on Monday, May 20th. The meeting minutes from May 6th and the Emergency meeting from May 13th were reviewed, corrected and approved.

REBEL BASEBALL

Thursday, May 16 MCC vs RTR The MCC Rebel Baseball team had their final road game of the season on Thursday afternoon when they traveled to play the RTR Knights. The Rebels were 11-2 on the season entering the game, with three games to play in the regular season.

MCC GOLFERS AT HOME VS WORTHINGTON & SWMCH-EHS

It was a beautiful day on the course for MCC golf as they competed in a triangular at Slayton Country Club. The Rebels had the home field advantage, but struggled at times with their mental game. MCC’s boys didn’t rise to the top of the leaderboard, but they had a great round as a team scoring a 188. The girls finished in first place with a 191, and had strong finishes by all players.

MICHELLE ZENK OF HADLEY EARNS UNIVERSITY OF NEBRASKA-LINCOLN DEGREES

Michelle Susan Zenk of Hadley was among 3,484 graduates who received degrees from the University of Nebraska- Lincoln during commencement exercises May 3, 17 and 18. Zenk earned a Bachelor of Science in Agricultural and Environmental Sciences Communication with distinction from the College of Agricultural Sciences and Natural Resources.
