Alexandria Technical & Community College Dean’s List for fall 2024 ALEXANDRIA, Minn. (February 4, 2025) - Sara Fier, Vice President of Academic and Student Affairs at Alexandria Technical & Community College, recognizes individual students for academic excellence.

UNIVERSITY OF MN MORRIS FALL 2024 DEANS LIST The following area students have been named to the University of Minnesota Morris Dean’s List for the fall 2024 semester. To be eligible for the Dean’s List, students must achieve a grade point average of 3.666 or higher while taking 12 or more credits on the A-F grading system, with no incompletes or nonsatisfactory grades.

Local piano students were adjudicated in the annual Successful Music Making Piano Festival recently by Mrs. Christine Schneider of Willmar. Each student performed two memorized selections and received a critique as well as earned points. The Piano Festival provides an opportunity for learning musical excellence and performance practices.

WWG 51 - MCC 38 The MCC Rebel Girls were on the road Monday night in Westbrook. The Rebels and the Chargers have had very different seasons this year.

The Fulda/Murray County Central Warriors traveled to Murdock to take on the Benson Braves, The KMS Saints, and the ACGC Falcons on Saturday, January 31st. Then on Tuesday, February 4th they traveled to Worthington to take on New Ulm and the Worthington Trojans. After the almost 2 hour ride to Murdock, the boys won 1 dual and lost 2. With final scores of 41-22, the Warriors fell to ACGC and 4723 against KMS. The Warriors did pick up a win on the night against the Benson Braves with a final score of 46-26.

EDGERTON 61 MCC 44 The MCC Rebel GIrls Basketball team was back at home on Thursday night against the Edgerton Flying Dutchman. The Rebels lost to Edgerton back in December after having a 15 point lead in the second half.

By John Stenen The young news correspondent, was flying his single engine plane over the deep jungle in New Guinea, when all of a sudden his engine quit. He was able to jump from the plane with his parachute and landed safely. For many days he wandered through the thick tangled jungle only to discover he had been walking in circles, always ending up near the area where he had started. He was fearful that he would be forever lost. Finally, one day he happened to come across what appeared to be a well worn trail. He followed it and it led him to a road and eventually to safety. He was thankful to be alive, for he loved life.

Guilty She looked guilty to me! After all, her mug shot shown starkly as her hair was strewn helterskelter. Sort of wild looking she was, eyes pictured all forlorn staring straight into the camera.
