End of Year Planning: MCA Testing, Prom, and Graduation

As we round the final turn into Quarter 4, the finish line is in sight! It’s hard to believe we are in the final stretch. Testing is here, and planning for Prom and Graduation is underway.

State Testing

Testing season is here! The schedule for your student’s testing sessions is listed below. These state mandated tests are intended to measure your student’s mastery of state standards in Math, Reading and Science. While these tests are not ‘graded,’ it is important that students do their best so we can get an accurate measure of how well our programming stacks up to state expectations. Please make sure your child gets a good night’s rest and a nutritious breakfast before they are scheduled to test. Please also encourage them to do their best as these tests are, in part, a reflection of our schools academic standing in the greater SWMN community.

Prom: “A Black-Tie Affair”

Prom planning is wrapping up with a great evening in store for MCC Juniors and Seniors. Students should feel free to bring a date, go as a group, or come on their own. Prom night is Saturday April 27th. Evening events will start with a banquet at Key Largo from 5:30-7:00pm with the Grand March to follow at 7:30pm. The dance will commence after the Grand March and end at 11:30pm with after-prom events following the dance. The Junior Class parents are in the process of planning a fun-filled after prom at MCC that includes a hypnotist, inflatables, obstacle course, bean bags, glow in the dark activities, yard games, volleyball, prizes, food & much, much more! Please note that MCC policy states that if you attend prom, you must attend the entire after-prom as well.

I wanted to give a shout out to our Jr./Sr. Advisors, Christine Larson, Darla Bly, James Wajer and Lucas Freeman, for all their effort in making sure we have a great prom this year!
